Darkest Dungeon II for MacOS?
Did Red Hook Studios make any statement about MacOS release? Is it planned at all?

Wow, it's been a long time since I've seen this question about any game at all. Which, alas, means that the answer is probably no.

Official response in the other thread mentioning macOS is "yes", with "no timeline announced".

Weird how this attitude is still so prominent. When Apple's ARM chips execute x64 instructions more efficiently than Intel's actual x64 architecture, and that .NET CLR bytecode doesn't care about platform. (Excessive optimization of IEEE floating point, i.e. /fp:fast or -ffast-math being a leading cause of developers giving up on support. I.e. self-own.) Proof positive that bias knows no reality.

Edited to note: yes, yes i am a software engineer.

Well, the reason I made that comment was precisely because I feel that the majority of developers—and, subsequently, users—have given up on supporting/expecting support of the platform. As a former Mac user of many years, I know the pain all too well, and asked that question many times, myself. But I also think that the advent of Bootcamp has a lot to do with developers no longer investing in dedicated Mac versions.

Ventura came out during the early stages of the game's development. They're probably better off waiting for Sonoma's release than developing just for Ventura.

Imagine the game's performance on mac though. Jesus Christ.

Did you actually just say 'imagine the game's performance on mac' as if it a highly intensive AAA game that requires a RTX 3090 to run at 1080p?
DD1 runs on any mac 2013+, DD2 is similar by nature. Also check out the new macs running No Man Sky at 4k Ultra and playing Windows Games with the porting Kit with very Good FPS without even being optimised for the system

To maintain a stable 60 FPS? Probably?

It's been decades since I've used a Mac, but I remember absolutely despising them. They assumed you were an idiot and did a bunch of things without asking, and there were virtually no options or settings. You weren't in control of your own device.

Nowadays I hear the company has somehow earned a reputation as a luxury producer, its products are exceedingly overpriced, they spy on you, they aggressively use planned obsolescence to try to get you to buy a new smartphone every two years, and they lobby governments do prevent people from doing things as simple as changing a battery themselves because.

Maybe the OS is a little more efficient, but I wouldn't use it or encourage the company. IMO it should be the prominent attitude.

I'm on Linux. Lightweight, honest and free. And Steam likes Linux.

I've been using MacOS for 12 years now and it has been amazing OS for Productivity. Subjectivity is King, yes?

No subjectivity about Apple being a luxury brand and their bouts with planned obsolescence.

I've worked for the company.

For those of you who may be wondering and are tired of waiting for an official port:
The game runs flawlessly and smoothy via Crossover for Mac.
Despite rating on the MacGamingWiki saying it is only "good" I don't see how it could possibly run any smoother.
I'm on an M1Pro.
