Kingdoms thoughts.
Seems pretty cool so far. I like that we have access to all heroes, I think the Kingdoms over world map looks very cool. The custom difficulty is very nice to have. I wish more games would have that feature. I like that we have to defend the inns this time; it fits well with the game and feels more progressive then normal DD2.

However, I was really hoping they would have ditched the stagecoach for this mode, it's honestly the only thing for me that held back DD2. Also, I am playing on normal and a lot of the times I am just driving through nothing, with less events in between. The game can come off a little confusing as of what to do. They explain to fast, and vaguely, but I eventually caught on enough.

So far I say B+. I have to play more to fully understand the new mode better. Thanks for the free big update Redhook!

what f***ed up me most was almost nothing in this game matters: just survie somehow and exchance your progress for candles, next run everything resets.
Same for relations: not only a completly broken effect, but completly resets when you reach the next tavern.
did they remove this? if yes, I give it a try again otherwise not

You dont even unlock anything permanent or gain candles in Kingdom mode.

does not matter for me. the whole candle- thing is something i do not need or like.

My interest is: Do you have a hero for more just one run? Do I keep trinkets, quirks etc. I aquired in a run for the next one, or does everything reset at every tavern?

- you can have total 12 unique heroes in one kingdom game if you have DLC it will cut out random 3 heroes
- trinket and quirk last until you finish Kingdom
- I believe relationship buff still reset after every inn stop
It doesn't play like DD1, better try it out yourself.

They need to reduce the item count of the "ice Storage" part of the Quest down to 1 item per region. Having a -15 inventory penalty is not fun neither "challenging", it's just annoying. And this is on top of the inn materials you have to carry around.

There is only one run, all the heroes are unlocked and wait around the map at inns. If one dies thats it, ded forever until you win or loose the map. Quirks gained will stay with the hero until you win or loose, or remove with the physician. You can swap heroes in and out at the inn, but they have to physically travel there first and every hero gains fatigue on every region. Fatigue reduces max hp and is a serious handicap if you dont swap out hereos. So you most likely wont have an optimal team setup all the time as you will be swapping out heroes to deal with fatigue and to heal their stress.
Ok, thank you. This helps. seems a good improvement for me, but not enough to bring me back,
Tried to play it for it a bit. Personally not worth the download. Didn't enjoy the new fatigue mechanic or the fact your relationships reset, good or bad, after like 5 turns. Everything thing else more less same, didn't change how i feel about the base game.

To rectify the relationship status stuff, it lasts "3 days" on the in game map, so when you move from point A to point B or rest.

Think of them as different games. DD1 has a different play style then DD2. They share the same bones, but aspects are different (think of it as a stream lined DD1). It never hurts to buy the game, and play for a couple of hours then refund if you don't like it. I think by then you will have a good idea of the game.

DD2 It's still a great game imo.

Streamlined? More like they cut out what made Darkest Dungeon 1 unique, and put in a StS-esque system that contributes more to the incredulous waste of time that runs are with the stagecoach travelling between points.

Hey idiot. Did you find backtracking and wandering through empty hallways in Darkest Dungeon 1 to be a waste of time?

Aww, how adorable, it thinks that it's opinion means anything.

Did you know that it takes less time than a route on DD2 to go through a hallway then backtrack? I also guess you had horrible planning if you had to backtrack every hallway, and were just bad at the game.

Do you really expect a reasonable response with you name calling like some child.

You'd have a better chance of talking to a gnat and having it understand what you're saying than trying to explain that to some people here.
Well, if you suckerpunch someone you kinda have to be open to people responding. Can’t just bombthrow and not expect someone to not be thrilled.
Why do people think giving out that stupid clown award means anything. You got your feelings hurt so youre giving me points to spend? I mean ok, but that doesnt stop you from looking stupid.
