Well, they gave you Flaggelant who is DLC character in DD1.

They werent going to originally include him but people wouldnt shut up so they did it by popular demand and partly for revenge so you have to work for it. You get the Lost Crusade Quest and have to complete objectives and defeat the Warlord to get the Crusader, he isnt just normally there like The Duelist is. (who also seems like a ripoff of The Thorn mod character...)
