"Wow, this run/team is going pretty well."
Would be a shame if 5% rng decided to roll up, twice in a row. (God I love this game.)

Nobody condoned Collector/Collector.

I definitely expressed confidence vs Collector>Collector, given my above-mentioned go-to's fair very well against them and have obnoxious sustain -- and even OP claiming that their fortune might have differed with just a bit more travel heal -- but I at no point said it was a good problem, outside of branding it a "memorable encounter" and usable hindsight.

And there's the crux of the matter. All previous posts are about turning the 'past' issue into usable knowledge, but people are reading it as "You should have known better at the time", which nobody said at any point.

It's not much different from the blurbs that pop up when DD1 and DD2 boot up.

As said, we all know Collector is a thing - and heaven forbid meeting two in a row - but even if you choose not to counter it directly after such an experience, one still has to be mindful of the risk, hence my comment about your Dreaming General > Collector anecdote. That situation sucked, but we have to acknowledge the risk of Collectors possibly waiting on the boss route unless it is patched.

Whether it's merely keeping it in mind, thinking twice about first-region first-node bosses during Stygian, counter-comps, more sustain, picky farming, or saying 'f0ck it, whatevs'.

You are even wrong about sustain, damage and speed is meta in this game. I rest my case, got nothing further to say.

Had a fun double collector sighting immediately after harvest child and just before the exemplar. Granted I had two trophies, but still.

Thankfully bounty hunter was there to take the fall. Literally.

I'll be honest: fighting the Collector again immediately after just kicking his ass is 50% funny, but also 50% frustrating. It sort of takes the novelty out of him.

The only way to win is to not play.
Collector isn't as much of a pushover as I thought he would be on release, especially with ordainment/battle modifiers, the heads immediately acting upon summoning, and combo stuns. Also why does collected HM have 30% crit on headhunt :dd2horror:

Judging by the patch notes, either this thread struck a nerve at Redhook or Collector>Collector was definitely unintended. I'll miss (Will I, though?) that potential ptsd-inducing event but at least I got to experience pain before it got patched.

If you ever hope for proper change, it's best to use the official feedback channel via Discord. Threads like this do help, but it's more second-hand and less reactive.

For example, here's one identical claim being discussed three weeks before this thread, and no doubt many times before + after, and probably voted on by the community numerous times.

I just got two collectors in the same area (both road battles)
Maybe tweak his spawns so you down get him back to back?

As for the patch notes:

► Collector: Now only has a chance to spawn once per region. Collected Heads now only spawn with an Extra Action in the first round

So, we still have to account for Lair/Collector, but at least Collector/Collector isn't a thing, and all encounters normalize after the first Collect Call. Not bad.
