Yeah the wall can beat the librarian, but that being said it is probably one of the tougher boss fights with the composition. The setup I was able to beat the librarian with was Poet Leaper (Tempest could also work), Banneret Crusader, Bulwark Man-at-arms, and seraph vestal. I had Leaper use withstand, and spammed intimidate after, when the librarian got to rank 3 and started burning the books I used ruin, and chop and intimidate when he got to rank 2. Solemnity for heals and stress management. Crusader and man at arms danced in the middle, with rampart and holy lance. Command on man at arms was also good due to all the blinds. Vestal threw down consecration of light in rank 3 so when crusader holy lanced it was buffed. If you can make the man at arms faster or the crusader slower it helps out, because you want man at arms to rampart first then crusader to holy lance that way you have vestal's judgement buffed every time. Alternatively, dropping consecration of light on leaper when the boss gets close could also be viable especially if you went tempest. Any kind of fire resistance combat items will go a long way too so you can focus on damage and not have to worry about the dots. Intimidate was the main key I found. It can lower the bosses damage, remove dodge so holy lance can go through, and even if you miss you taunt so the boss focuses on the tanky leaper. That was what I was able to beat him with but, the team can be decently flexible you can go a variety of different paths and skills and still make this comp work. Just have to find the right balance to deal with the back-liners in most fights. Hope this helps!
What's the difficulty? Leper's purge and MaA Rampart can push books back, bringing Librarian into punching zone faster. And this party doesn't suffer much from the shuffle - one strategic withdrawal will fix it into a decent fighting position. You also have illumination to shred down his evasion tokens.
