how to use cause of death?
I dont understand the point of that skill tbh. It would make sense to use it if it had a +% deathblow res pircing. Like to use it as a finisher to kill big mobs. But as it is rn i dont realy use it at all.
Using it to kill a normal mob is not worth in my opinion and i better do something else like dealing dmg to the next one or heal and leave the mob to die from the DOT
Using it to kill a big mob is not worth it because it delets the DOT so you only send it to deathdoor, rather kill it the normal way and try to finish it off from the DOT. Like it doenst matter if he dies to cause of death or the DOT itself... esp if its only 75% dmg. Or at least its super situational. I use it like 2 times a run. and usually it dosnt matter if i use cod or incision.
How do you use that skill properly??

On most builds is a very situational skill, true. When it shines tho, it can cut through the turn timer like butter.

On DPS races, like the general (most of the minibosses rly but general just sits there and takes it), a well placed CoD (Or Scourge Sepsis) can make the fight last 2-3 or even 4 turns less, with all it entails. Less damage and stress received.

Ofc you need a rly drawn out fight for it to shine, I sometime slot it vs Exemplars too, hate those things.

yeah, damage on high health targets and bosses to finish em off faster is probably its main function

omg im a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. i didnt realise it wasnt just dmg/turn.
if its 10dmg burn and 10 dmg blight for 4 rounds it deals 80 dmg right? i though its 10+10=20dmg. Idk why. i was like why not let the turn timer run out. i just read it like that. nvm then

It's pretty amazing with other dot characters like Runaway, berserker Hellion, Flag and some others. Protip: keep a dot-inducing combat item on your PD if you have COD equipped. Something like a Spiked Ball or Molotov for that extra umph

It can be a little annoying if the enemy has death blow resistance, since it removes the dot and makes it slightly harder to finish it off. It's usually good for when the enemy has so much health that it would take multiple turns to kill anyway, or if you have other people who can get turns in for the killing blow before the enemy can move again.

Alchemist RES reduction carries over to items so if you find a blight throwable, that's an additional plus.

It's definitely for big bosses where the DOTs can accumulate to high numbers but where the damage isn't realized until multiple turns later.

It would make zero sense for it to have DTH RES Piercing, though. You'd be using the attack to get the boss on Death's Door, which (aside from upgraded Glint in the Dark) always has a 0% chance to result in the creature's death.
