They legitimately put radiant flame in the game for free in every first Inn, and pets.
Also, you still get Bounty Hunter for a cost of almost no candles, why not allow us to pay it repeatedly as is. If its balanced for one region, why is it not balanced for multiple?
Well, good things are typically available in limited amounts. That's why inns don't have unlimited amounts of consumables for sale. If you can only buy one of something, you're going to have to be careful about when and where you use it.
Admittedly, with the Bounty Hunter, people would always use him on the first region if he's available, because that's the hardest (you have only 2 Masteries and basically no trinkets or equipment).
And? It slows down your meta progression and you have to front like 50 candles to make use of his abilities. Its just nonsense we get to use a cool character (which many people favorite in the first game) for a single region.
I'm not saying I necessarily agree (or disagree) with the decision of making the Bounty Hunter a stronger-than-normal single-region character. This decision comes with benefits; it's really cool when you do get him and that allowed them to make him way stronger than he would have been as a regular character, but at the same time he's less available.
I'm just saying, in video games, it's common for certain things to be in limited supply so that you have to make decisions about when you're going to be using those things.
He's actually excellent even if you just unlock him. I have all his skills unlocked and I typically only switch one of his skills. His base skill loadout is great.
Plus, he will never be at the last inn before the Mountain, unless you're running Denial.
Oh cool, I didn't know he could be at the last inn in Denial.
I should do Denial again. I'll have to take a look at my "Memories" text file to see which heroes have done it and which haven't (since there's seemingly no way to get that info outside of the Altar of Hope), but I'm sure there are a bunch that haven't done it.
I find fresh him decent at front. Getting his other skill let's him fill middle and back much better :O
Look at the medals surrounding your character portrait on the character screen. Also I think one screen outright tells you what memories they have
You can't open the character screen at the Crossroads, and the screen that tells you what memories you have doesn't tell you which slots you've unlocked (or even how many).
If you want to make plans regarding which character to bring to which boss battle you have to do it from the Altar of Hope.
Personally I just wrote stuff down in a text file like this:
Sarmenti: OXXXX, all good
Bonnie: OXXXO, all good
Baldwin: OXOXO, all good
Boudica: XOXXX, all good
Damian: OXOXX, all good
Dismas: OOXXX, OK but nothing good yet
Audrey: OOOOO, but many bad Memories, should RESET (by having her killed in action, for the achievement)
Alhazred: OOOOX, all good
Paracelsus: OOOOO, all good (one slot left for something like +10 max HP).
Barristan: OOOOX, OK but nothing good yet
Junia: OOXXX, OK
