UPDATE: ultra wide work around (does not support 21:9 ultrawide)
just an FYI for the ultra wide master race.

There is a option "exclusive fullscreen" that will stretch the 16:9 image to fit your screen but it obviously looks terrible.

Update: ultrawide fix

By default the game comes with black bars on the side, but it does support 21:9, even though it doesn't let you chose it. This is how you can force it to run on UW resolution, in my case 3440x1440,

You need to go into Settings> Graphics>change to Window>select 3840x2160 (or highest resolution that it lets you)>click Update and then click Keep Settings, then switch back to Fullscreen Window and click the Update button once again. Everything should then be set to the monitor's default resolution with no stretching.

Unfortunately once you exit and re-enter game, it's back and you need to do it again! I hope they will add proper support for 21:9.

Ultrawide Support
Red Hook mentioned that this would be added prior to release. It's not here. No 3440 x 1440 option or any 21:9 for that matter.

I understood when DD1 did not offer it considering it was released many years ago, but this is 2023. Red Hook is charging a higher price this time around with literally the same 16:9 options as DD1, which was released 8 years go.

My resolution is 3440x1440. It's not supported yet?
In the game settings, the maximum resolution in full screen mode can be set to 2560x1440. Is it possible to make my native resolution with some third-party programs or will I have to wait for fixes?

Bruh #2.

The price is 10 times higher than the previous one for my country yet the features are not there.

I have the same issue. Not even normal 1440 p is supported. Thats pretty laughable for a 40 dollar game that fully came out now.

that is so emberassing
mgaNick- May 8, 2023 @ 10:00am
it does not even support anything above 1080p for me. I checked both since i have a ultrawide main and normal 2k 2nd monitor.

I think it is time that steam get involved and start adding ultrawide as one of the tags to a game. They do it for controller support, VR, etc.

I want to be able to look at a game on the store page and see if it supports my monitor resolution or not. I am gonna refund, which sucks because I was looking forward to playing. Maybe in the future they will add 21:9 support

They promised ultrawide support at release. They lied. I already left a thumbs down review based on this alone. I'll be refunding in a day or two if they can't give an update on what happened to this support they promised

Yep, I do play a lot of indie game and all of them support 21:9 ratio, since it is standard for years. They even said in some Q&A that they will implement it. If they are not able to for some reason, frames like in hades would be lot better than black bars at least.
