I disagree. There are a number of games that I decide to purchase, simply because they provide mod support. While mod support doesn't always equal additional replay value, it often does, and DD1 is a great example of that.
Not every game needs mod support for me to purchase it - but there are a number of games I would have passed on if it didn't offer it.
Yeah we all know the game is average at best. Not playing this game until mod support is available is one of the better reasons Ive heard not to play a middling game like dd2
theres people who bought warcraft 3 for dota that don't even know it has a single player campaign :D
same with arma 3 and pubg.
at this point skyrim is probably also something you buy for the mods not the base game.
