Steam deck compatibility?

Steam Deck. Granted, loading via Epic through the Heroic Launcher, but it was working just fine the other day, and I'm seeing plenty of other people reporting mixed results. It's quite odd.

Just to add: I get the DD mouse cursor, and can move it around the black screen. I get this with every version of Proton I've tried.

Same for me (black screen with DD cursor) on steam deck using heroic launcher with epic version of the game and proton experimental. Steam version does work fine on the deck with proton experimental but for some reason the epic version through heroic just a black screen.

Yep, moving to Darkest Dungeon 2: Experimental on Epic via Heroic did the trick for me. On the official Discord I saw a dev mention it uses the same saves as the regular client, so those of us having issues with that should be able to safely play via Experimental for the time being.

I’m playing on Steam Deck.
Had no issues with launching the game since I switched ON the proton experimental.

My biggest issue so far is the terrible frame drops in the Tangle region, beside that it works all good.

It was a pain to get the epic games installer functioning for the first time but since them the game has run well for me. I absolutely hope to get a controller compatibility patch sooner than later, however if you switch to the controller layout Keyboard (WSAD) and mouse, it makes life much easier as you can use the analog stick to move and the triggers to confirm/deselect etc.

It works when you use proton 8.0.2 but the controls are not that great since dd2 has no controller support and you don't have cloud saves I hope they will add it soon.

works great on steam deck, theres a community layout the top rated one works fine but theres a bug where in the Valley you can use the arrow keys to cycle through abilities but it only works in the valley. also you cant open the list of buffs/debuffs i think on PC its ctrl(?).

my problem on (k)ubuntu is that the game runs with 5 FPS, any workaround ?
allready switched to experimental

edit: maybe the gutter is bugged ? because the valley went with full fps

it does appear to vary from region to region. Also worth noting that today's hotfix improved perf significantly for me on my linux desktop, including fixing the frequent (but not 100%) black-screen hang on launch that was occurring with Proton Experimental
