Will price increase with 1.0 release (based on the current price on Epic store)

The price on Epic store is really reasonable to me. I wonder if the price on steam will be higher?

They are adding Flagellant and Act4 Act 5 bosses to 1.0, this might justify a price increase.

Can you think of one game that was more expensive on a Steam release after a Epic exclusive release? I can't.

If you can't think of even one, I doubt it. They caused such horrible goodwill with an Epic exclusive I believe they wouldn't dare.

The "horrible goodwill" seems to only affect a vocal minority. Many gamers don't say anything in forums and probably don't care as long as the price is good.

I just looked at the DD2 FAQ in Epic Store. It says this:

Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?
Just like with DD1, there will be a small price increase as the game comes out of Early Access.

I mean EA games on Steam have price increases when they go 1.0 all the time. I don't see how that makes a difference.

Owners of DD1 will get a timed discount for buying DD2. i wonder though, if this will be a situation where they increase the price going out of EA and the discount will just be the current EGS price or will the price remain the same and the discount will actually be worthwhile.

I guess we will see on monday.

Well, that would be assuming EGS doesn't raise their price as well.

Although there have been many Epic games that have released on Steam down the line and usually discounted, this however is a bit different because we have an unusual situation where the game is coming out of early access as it arrives on Steam and out of its exclusivity window. Too bad the developers have failed to communicate any information regarding this but typically games arriving on Steam this way are reduced at launch but then again early access games usually have a price increase at 1.0.

We probably wont know until it actually launches.
