If everyone dies you get nothing
so you have to excape this "Huge dungeon" that leads to the games final boss
and on the way upgrade yourself and find things.
The game gets easier the more candles you gain but the worse way to play is to feel you cant win without upgrading, as even if you had better stuff, you still need to understand team comps, enemies and bosses, so the best early game strat is to test the water and build your way up, as then you will be getting better instead of trying to unlock everything, Its like slay the spire, you don't need all the cards to beat the heart but you definitely need to understand the game too
Also again its like dd1 with the town
Regarding the candles, if you are a good player, you get more candles, and things get easier. If you are struggling, you don't get many candles and continue to struggle. This is also frustrating.
