DD2 characters seem... horny. So, I'm wondering why a form of the Vestal isn't it.

Losing Vestal would hurt. I loved memeing with a frontline Vestal, it was a fun way to shake stuff up.

Why will there be no Crusader or Vestal? They were my second-favourite characters (after Houndmaster and Bounty Hunter)
Have the devs said why they're removed? Is it due to religious undertones or something?
If mods bring them back I'd probably buy the game but otherwise its a hard miss. Hope the game is selling well though, and that the devs have a good launch on Steam.

There are two possibilities floated by some people around the internet, the first one is that canonically, The Crusader and The Vestal are the ones sacrificed to the heart of Darkness, which would mean they are simply dead. The second one is that the light is gone, and without the source of their power, they've more or less disappeared in the chaos. No idea how true any of these rumors might be, just mentioning them as I found the interesting.
