UEVR Doesn't Work

I can get GRAVEL to work on Steam/UEVR, but NWTD won't run with the injector. Here's what I do. On Laptop 1 launch Virtual Desktop Streamer 2 Launch Steam then on Q3 headset 1 launch Virtual Desktop 2 from VDT launch Steam VR 3 launch game from VDT in headset (runs fine at this point 60FPS) 4 On laptop inject NWTD
Then it chokes up and dies and the game won't start. Not even at a low framerate.
Any ideas? Or different ways to start it?
The above process works for me for Gravel tho.

Since it's a 3rd party mod, use their Discord server.
Or the Flat2VR server since they host all of these VR mods.

I am currently on vacation but I bought it just for the VR so I hope it will work. It apparently does since Beardo and PD are playing it.

The game works great in VR with UEVR
