When investigating the scene you kinda interact with things, but you are railroaded through those. Basic loop is:
1) Find a hotspot
2) Press some buttons and watch pretty effects
3) Goto 1 until investigation is done
There is a bit of branching in how you approach things, but I don't know yet how severe the consequences will be.
So, I'd say it is more mechanically advanced than pure walking sims.
So in your opinion, if I disliked Firewatch (much due to this), I probably wouldn't like this game?
This has dialogue while something
BUT, it's also not a shooter. You're not getting gun fights.
It's not action-heavy, so if you're not so interested in a very narrative-driven game with little in the way of varied gameplay (so far - I'm only a couple of hours or so into it), it may not be for you.
There's at least one video of someone playing through the first hour on YouTube, where you investigate the scene of the crime - maybe check that out and see if it's to your taste.
Isn't\wasn't concerned about lack of action\shooting. The storepage and trailer just looked heavily "firewatch"-like, a game I absolutely disliked (but the trailer came of as it potentionally being an interessting game), however it having choices makes all the difference.
For the price, I really do think the game is worth it, if that helps.
