There's a spitoon in the speakesy after the prologue, but it's on a shelf only for display. I want to shove my hand in there and get some cool item.
1. Games announced years early, often before very much has been completed or the form of the game even decided;
2. Release dates that are missed most of the time, often several times;
3. Pre-purchasing that is encouraged with the use of fake footage that is not representative of the final game and promises that are not delivered (cough, Cyberpunk, cough).
3. The general, sickening and overwhelming culture of hype that pervades the industry. Any hype should be organic and from the ground up (community generated), not the top-down.
And I for one am thrilled that this developer has eschewed those things and for the awesome surprise yesterday. This is how it should be!
