The Cat Fancy Achievement

So I'm trying to get the "Cat Fancy" achievement BUT I THINK I MESSED UP REAL BAD. In the bass-mouth and sons there are two cats i did the quest tried to unlock both of them but the one in the right office wont let me pet it because i negotiated in the Chapman House instead of the Tracy House so i couldn't pet both of the cats so can the achievement be got over multiple playthroughs? or do i have to do some complicated Prince of tides achievement stuff?. (i got all of the cats so far until i did the quest so i don't want to restart)

not sure if it can be done over multiple playthroughs, but i just let the 2 kids go and both of the cats let me pet them (which you obviously can't do if you want the prince of tides achievement)

oh i let the Occam gator take them because i was too lazy to fight him and thought it didn't matter.

you don't even have to fight him, just convince him that their families will be way more miserable with them gone (i think there's a skillcheck too) and he just leaves them be, but to get the prince of tides achievement you do have to get them back, so it's kind of a lose-lose thing

Can confirm multiple playthroughs count. Unlocked one cat on my first, unlocked the other just now on my second for the achievement. Both playthroughs have the other cat shunning me.
