hey devs: how far does the infinite hallway go? and did you use an AI to produce the names for every door?
basically title. i know it cant be infinite. there has to be an end to it.
if i could speed up the game with cheat engine (which doesnt work for some reason) id check it out myself.
but i really wanna know how far it actually goes.

couldn't it be generated as you go, and therefore essentially infinite? i just assumed it was a gag and that there wasn't any point to it after the bathroom at the beginning

true i didnt even consider this.
it just feels soooo good to hide anything there

while it's possible that something is in there, i feel like my patience is lower than... uh. i don't have the patience to hold down one key for longer than a minute. that's what i meant

i put a weight on mine yesterday, went to brush my tooth and watch a video. came back to 2263.
idk if i missed something along the way but yeah.

it would be the worst move if they disabled the map in that hallway so you'd have to walk all the way back lol

Sure it can be. Unless someone confirms otherwise, I would assume it generates the next part of the hallway just before you walk into it, so that it never stops.

Procedurally generated content.

The names of the classrooms are likely made by grabbing one word each from 2-3 huge lists

Its done in a lot of other places too, like pretending to farm in the prologue, shelves in the feed store, the infinite house near the university, etc
Clown Reemus Nov 23, 2022 @ 9:20am
I can confirm, it is procedurally generated. After a while you start running into classes with just one word being different. There is no confirmed presence of any sort of "easter egg" or anything.

Someone should try running down it for a few hours to see if they get an achievement for it...

Some people have said that you can find a spider at 15 minutes, but that's pretty likely BS

i watched a 14min vid and brushed my teeth and while i didnt stare at the screen, i found nothing. maybe i ran past it, but it surely doesnt block your path

One person said that, and they also claimed you could get Borge's Daughter as a companion if you stood still and waited long enough. They were just messing with people.

Did the devs use... AI... to do... procedural generation?

You would encounter Xavier a ton more times, because it is one of the names put into possible randomly generated nameplates on the doors. They generate as you go. This *is* a coincidence.

It's a very simple procedural generation.
There is a pool of names/titles and objects for the room (poster/fountain etc.)
and each door is numbered: Number + 1

Same thing used in Hillbert's house infinite floors

I hath reached the end!!! 2168 appears to be the last room visible before a blank wall and stop to the continuation. Pretty sure I went for WAY more than 15 mins. Nothing at the end.

EDIT: NVM. I backtracked a bit and saw a door pop up past the number and then some. So I guess I had gotten ahead of the procedural generated part and had to backtrack for it to update. It goes on....
