"Do a Cat Thing" buffering

At the sandwich museum, in the shadow zone thing where you turn into a cat, you can press space to do a cat thing. Usually with stuff like jumping as a human, if you press space while jumping, the jump won't buffer and you won't jump again when you land. But, with doing a cat thing, your space presses buffer seemingly forever. i.e. if you press space 20 times, you will sit there and do 20 cat things in a row, unable to move. I did that and then thought I was stuck in a softlock, but it eventually stopped and I realized what happened.
