Static sound when playing game

Whenever I play there is an annoying static / buzzing noise throughout the game when it makes sound. No other application or game has this issue, it's solely shadows over loathing. I've tried reinstalling and changing bitrates but it doesn't go away. Please help as it's really annoying

Some audio issues have been resolved by updating audio drivers. Xenu -- Is that something you could try?

As for the Steam Deck, what version of Proton are you running to play the game? Maybe there is some unusual audio problem in a specific early version of Proton? (Having a hard time understanding how the otherwise standardized Steam Deck could be having audio issues; I just tested the game on mine and it sounds fine...)

Issue was fixed by turning off in game steam overlay
