Is there a method to Mudhenge?

What it says on the tin. I want to fully explore mudhenge but I have no idea how, nor have I managed to find any hints other than the notes about the buried crown and the 'nudist way.'

I had trouble with this because I don't play with sound - it makes a specific whoosh noise when you pass through the right arch.

Ooh, thank you - I hadn't considered the sound angle. (I generally play with my music off and the other sound pretty low, too!)

I feel like there has to be something other than the sound effect. Trial and error never strikes me as this series' style.

The developer says the key is in the clue about Mary. I still can't figure out how that relates to the sequence.
The only leads I have is that none of the words have over six letters. The one that would have been over 6 (drowned) has been arbitrarily shortened to 'drown'd'. Second, both the poem about Mary and the Nudist's Creed have nine words? That could possibly correspond to the fact that there's nine arch spaces. But there's only five working arches, and that still stumps me
