Ch.5 Gilmore House Shelter Code
So I figured out that the code should be reflective of the dolls and the order that she does her day, which SHOULD come out to 423988. However, I've tried every combination I could think of and it's just not working.

Anyone figure it out?

There's a note that states that one of the dolls is doing double the work she's supposed to.

It's the one handling the novel pages i.e. the second to last 8 needs to be made into a 4, so the revised code will be 423948.

does anything happen after you enter? it seems to end there

Quest-wise? You talk to the author, and that's about it; it's not even necessary to talk to him to get the part from his house; it's mostly for flavor, although his bunker does have access to a wormhole you can close.

Thanks so much, I was fiddling with the breakfast number by cutting it in half/doubling it since I found that note in the kitchen.

Well, if you convince him that hes ''delusional'', this line appears in the save file:

"dollhouse_badend": "1"

As to what that does for the games ending, I do not know. Havent finished it yet.

I beat the game after doing that just earlier today.

Literally no mentions.

Could be that "badend" means there's some other way to resolve that location's subplot and convincing him he's delusional is the wrong way. The Loathing devs love to put in really obscure, hard-to-stumble-on solutions to things that people didn't even realize were puzzles. That said, I have no idea what else one could do there, and that variable might just have a misleading name, or it might reflect planned content that was never implemented.

Oh well. Good to know. Im just doing a test run to see what does what (in terms of actions, and save file variables). Thanks.

I've played the series since I first found Kingdom well over a decade ago. Trust me, I know.
I'm going to be busy testing Shadow mechanics, but if someone wants to take the doll arm from Sandwich to him, that'd be appreciated.

Well, if you choose the dialogue option 'I think i've heard enough.' while talking to him, he won't leave the bunker.

I convinced him he was projecting his novel onto his life. He agreed to leave after finishing the chapter he was working on.

The only actual evidence that they WERE attacking him was that doll who'd throw eggs at you. I do think the socks doll was passive-aggressive for some reason but not ACTUAL aggressive.

I was just backtracking through some areas on one of my characters and noticed that he wasn't in his shelter anymore. I checked inside the house and there was a conspicuous stain on the floor that wasn't there before. I guess he wasn't so delusional after all.

...huh. Duly noted.

Knowing Loathing, then, there's some mystery way to either de-curse the dolls or destroy them, thereby saving his life.
