Random spooky noises in The Big Moist?

Title is pretty self explanatory - i hear these sort of 'wooo' noises for just a moment at seemingly random times while exploring the big moist. I don't know if this is a bug, part of a puzzle, or what.

Can you be more specific? I've already played through the game several times, but i still don't know what they are or what causes them.

I'm still hunting for various stuff atm, been meaning to poke around this map more actually (kinda got side tracked when I had 10 sidequests thrown at me here all at once). But even just that rift area with the ghostly version, its not actual "ghosts" I don't think but its setup so that you'll assume it is at first. And some impish demon..

Anyway.. I'm starting to wonder if the riftcrystal might be procing, could you confirm if you have the riftcrystal and if you don't have you seen the area here with the rift/ ghostly version/ demon imp trickster/ guy watching a cow for decades?

No, i do not have the rift crystal. I've never gotten it. I have seen the area you mentioned, but i think those strange sounds happen even before you go there, specifically at the bus stop.

Ok, i'm at the gatorman fortress and i'm hearing them again, but much less frequently than at the bus stop. I think this is part of a puzzle, especially since this got moved to 'Spoilery Discussions'.

The thing is, it seems to happen more frequently in some areas than others, and not at all in some. Not to mention that it seems like an odd choice for a ambient noise.
