How much armor do you need to beat Jessica in chess?
I assume you have to get up to a certain number of armor to win, but it might be a different system entirely. I'd appreciate help from people who have won so I know what to do here.

I won against her today, and it's not that simple. I don't understand the system fully, but apparently it works like scales: every special move you make shifts the balance your way, every regular move you make shifts the balance against you. So you need a fairly long sequence of special moves with very few interruptions in order to win (around 9 with no mistakes should do it, don't remember the exact number). Since armor type required for special move is chosen randomly, it's important to have a well-rounded set of elemental armor values. Clown pants and booze that gives +2 to every elem armor are your biggest helpers. Don't forget boosts from burning barrel, stinky armchair and cats. There are also books that give upgradable elem armor perks.

That's what I was afraid of, it's a lot harder to get everything balanced than to max out two or three. Do you mind telling me what those boosts are? It looks like you get them by finding something in the world like a literal burning barrel or stinky armchair, but I'm not sure where to look, except maybe at the hobo camp for the burning barrel.

Here's my guess, you need 5 points to win the game. Each winning move gives you 1 point and each losing move takes 1.5 points. Each time you win the required resistance goes up by one and it cycles to any other random resistance. I won by having 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 in my resistances.

I actually just won, and that sounds about right. My winning game took about 6-7 moves and I didn't have the required resistance for one of those moves, so 7 points minus 1.5 for the mistake makes 5.5, which was still enough to win.

Yeah I was struggling with it getting up to 10 required resistance until I finally just won 5 moves in a row and sat there in awe like, ok that was easy.
