spotter not working

I posted this earlier. Someone said they changed it after complaints? I doubt it though as why would they not change it to binocs the???????

Spotter doesn't mark players, it marks killstreaks and equipment.

It USED to spot players prior to the Jan 20 update. Now it's just a pair of bonics.

If I had to put forward a guess, it was because Spotter Scopes made hiding in the environment impossible. Try to hide in some shadow, or in a bush? Spotter Scope would still know you were there, as long as there was line of sight.
