How I do I turn the Jumpscares off?
It's bad. It's loud. I don't need my ears blown out looting in either DMZ or Warzone.

"“It takes additional intestinal fortitude to drop into Call of Duty: Warzone combat when every lootable container across Al Mazrah or Vondead has the potential to set off an intense and visceral jump scare,” said Activision. “Survive these horrifying hallucinations to claim the rewards contained within the container."

In the two containers I looted, that had scares, nothing special came from them.

For now the only sollution it to bind "Mute Sound" to a key easy to reach. personally I have it on "T".

turn down the special effects volume in settings
I only see "Effects" and that mutes everything from gunfire to footsteps.
in the battlepass tab top left

That seems to sadly only turn it off for the Battle Pass itself. I have that off, after the game asked me about it. But it was still ingame.
Same...it is SOOO loud, and when you have your headphones normally cranked to hear footsteps and what not, it's just deafening...
Hate this. I thought it was a cool idea but yeah they're way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loud. Just died in DMZ because I got one when looting a player's body for armor plates and it had my ears ringing and I couldn't see anything because of the stuff on my screen. Just awful.
I get Jump-scared every time I comment on here by the usual Activision paid trolls.
if there no option to turn off screamers, i wont play event at all, such a bad and unfun idea

Doesnt work. It still stays on even after telling the game you dont want it
Horrible idea, not gonna open a container till this even finish. Almost deaf.

There is a switch to turn it off on the battlepass screen, but I'm still getting them even when turned off, typical.

"Players can turn off Jump Scare by going to the Battle Pass tab in the menu, where you’ll receive an immediate prompt regarding The Haunting event. You’ll then need to select ‘No Tricks, Just Treats: Turn Them Off.’ None of the in-game content will be affected by this change, but it will impact the Battle Pass."

None of the in-game content will be affected by this change, but it will impact the Battle Pass.

That option is a joke
