Battle Pass rewards
I'm trying to get a handle on this. So even if I use Battle Pass tokens to unlock rewards I still have to spend money to claim them unless they are labelled "free". Is that right?

Yes, that is correct. Battle Pass gets you everything you unlock otherwise you only get the free labeled rewards. Also, if you buy the Blackcell battle pass, you wont need to buy the regular Battle Pass along with it.
I put that last bit in because a friend bought both and didnt know until after I told him about it.

That's rather discouraging to play this game. I mean, I just play CoD to shoot stuff every now and then, not really interested in hardcore, unlocking things side. But seeing these things getting unlocked but still being paywalled just feels wrong and disappointing in general. Anyways, thanks for the answer.

WELCOME TO COD.
AT LEAST THE LAST FOUR OR FIVE COD GAMES HAVE OPERATED FROM THE SAME ♥♥♥♥♥♥ BUSINESS MODEL. SO, I ASSUME YOU'RE NEW TO THE GAME OR HAVEN'T PLAYED COD IN SEVERAL YEARS.

Yep only time i feel like it was a balanced system was during bo4's year since it was free if you played the game but you had the option to pay as a booster.

What? Literally every game that has a battle pass does this. I'm just assuming that COD is your first game ever with a battle pass. You will either have a free track or just free rewards so you can earn something and there's the premium items that you buy the pass for. CoD seems to allow you to earn enough credits to get the next one for free if you complete one, so paying for one and completing it allows you to get the next one for nothing. Unless you buy black cell which you can only get for real money and again gives you enough to get the next battle pass for free even if you don't buy black cell again.
