Limited Matchmaking "ban", for what exactly?
I've been a long time CoD fan and returned to the series with the new MW2. I've never cheated, raged, exploited, or said anything offensive during my time in CoD MW3 (I know, a rare specimen in our lovely community). I only play Hardcore S&D so no spawn killing either, but my K/D ratio is pretty positive as a result (1.6?). How the hell did I end up banned (or shadow banned) in this game?

The most outrageous thing is that according to their website you "cannot appeal this ban" and "Unfortunately, we are unable to inform you when the account will exit a limited matchmaking state". Is it ever if this game is no longer supported?

Well, how the hell am I supposed to keep playing this game?? Do a couple of good games at the top of the leaderboard ban me? Am I never going to get un-banned? Ridiculous.

This ban was completely unjustified (and potentially permanent), you can check if you were also affected by this at the Activision website, log in to "appeal a ban" and it will tell you if you were affected.

I bet I am not the only player affected, and Activision needs to be quick in fixing these mistakes before they eat a lawsuit for preventing us from playing the $70 games they sold us. For now I'll take a break from CoD and see if it is better in a week. If not (or if this situation keeps repeating), its time to move on to another game and never purchase another Activision game. For those others unfairly punished, I hope you do the same.

I got shadowbanned in MW III last monday, after an update of about 300 MB.

Never cheated in any games. Nor do I have any modding programs on my computer.
No new installation of programs last month.

It's a mass SB for Actvi for a lot of players in MW II and III.... because we don't have bo6
yup...Shadow banned as well no idea what I did either tbh.
they shadow ban every one, i just ask lobby and they said the same thing.
i am not afraid of sus or high skill players, but the ping alway 200ms+

Yup, activision has become a joke, i bought the blackcell 2 days after the season 2 came out, 24 hours later shadowbanned. Tried contacting someone with no luck, all you get is the run around and indirect bot answers, I've checked the status at the end of every week so far and nothing so I just switched to playing BF V 🤷‍♂️, I'm running into less cheaters on BF and having a blast.

Shadowbanned for the second time now.

Kicked a closet cheaters ass. Too bad he mass reported me using cheats. And I'm aware the devs are claim they're ignoring multiple reports by a single person. That's not true. It's an automated system that will take you out for days, weeks or even months. They'll eventually notice this frivolous nonsense and remove your shadowban.

But once your shadowban gets lifted you'll be shadowbanned again in record time from just very few reports. Your account is ruined at that point and they don't care.

Move on to other games and never give any money to them again.

I've never seen such BS in 19 years of online gaming. It baffles me how little people are talking about this. It's a borderline scam to be honest.

Oh I know waiting for my refund for the blackcell edition from Microsoft fingers crossed 🤞. I un-installed a few days ago, theres just no point i intentionally did the gamepass this time around so I wouldn't loose 110$ on a pre order thats another giant disappointment and I played cod since it's first release in 03 closest they came to a decent game was 2019 mw the issue is we give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to pre-order but gotta learn from our mistakes if we don't change something as a community they'll just continue to do it year after year.

I know this is frustrating, but you have to play another game for week or two. By design, call of duty puts players who are flagged as suspicious, including user reports into limited match-making. (also known as shadow ban). It’s kind of like being arrested where you have limited rights until you face a judge.

Yes, this often includes innocent players, but it also delivers a benefit to you by reducing the amount of cheaters. Activision could allow accused cheaters to continue playing while their account is under review. The system is a necessary evil.

The reason you can’t appeal is because a decision hasn’t been made.

are you guys using a cronus?
Strictly mouse and keyboard, and its been over a month now, I've no need to further support activision especially with the poor support system and ai anti cheat no longer upset with this just disappointed with the company it's become.

Just for curiosity's sake, check again now.

My ban was just lifted after 5 days. The first one after 4. Both times it was right as an update dropped. I wonder if that's a coincidence.

Might be worth stating if your shadowban lists the single player campaign. People claim if that's the case, they pretty much never get unbanned, though I'd assume that is always listed if you have it installed.

If you play with cheaters you can get banned now, so if a friend of yours cheats and you don't know you can still be banned.
that's a straight up lie don't listen to the misinformation. you can not ever get banned for playing with a cheater

factually inaccurate. lots of people have been banned for playing with cheaters, due to benefit from it.

i find the attempt to convince people otherwise to be strange.
