couldnt use killstreak in bo6 zombies

as a preface, was playing through xbox gamepass, and was starting to try hit lvl 51 on zombies terminal. Found out 2h in that i couldnt use killstreaks, and even after unbinding and binding it i couldnt use it. i bought multiple killstreaks to check, and it made no difference. will i have to deal with this again, and whats the fix to it.
