Will the black ops 6 beta count towards the main games game time count?
MW2 beta I pre ordered the super duper edition to get early beta access.

The beta was a seperate program in my games library on steam so I played like 9hrs and refunded my pre order.

Will we be able to do this again with black ops 6? What was MW3 beta access like.. did that beta have its own hour counter?

No. Beta play time before the games release does not count.

Advanced Access before launch does though but I don't think this game will have that.

Last 2 questions, yes.

Technically, the OP isn't supporting the game if they refund it before launch.

It does. MWII Beta was the last time they ran a beta in a separate app. Now it's consolidated into the main client(see MWIII beta)

Yup seems so. My review mw2 is now cosidered a review for "call of duty"

Guess I'll be skipping the pre order or buying the game because I will not be able to refund if its a pile of garbage as I am already just barely under the 2 hr mark.

Surely this is against some sort of rules on steam lmao, shadey as all hell.

Arena breakout and delta force are just around the corner and free so here is hoping they end up good.

REFUNDS ON TITLES PURCHASED PRIOR TO RELEASE DATE

When you purchase a title on Steam prior to the release date, the two-hour playtime limit for refunds will apply (except for beta testing), but the 14-day period for refunds will not start until the release date. For example, if you purchase a game that is in Early Access or Advanced Access, any playtime will count against the two-hour refund limit. If you pre-purchase a title which is not playable prior to the release date, you can request a refund at any time prior to release of that title, and the standard 14-day/two-hour refund period will apply starting on the game’s release date.

if they force the beta download via the call of duty client it won't matter, it need to be a seperate app in your library

It doesn't matter either way. Betas do not count as "play time" for a refund.

They never have, never will.

A beta is its own branch for the game that is separate from any other titles, including the release version of the game.

And all MWII pre-orders had 1 week Advanced Access to the campaign. But your review was on the day of its release, October 28, 2022 and no hours from the beta were included with your play time like you stated above.

If you want to review MWII explicitly, you can here...
