Application has unexpectedly stopped working (game_steam_ship.exe)

RTX4090 i9

Since around the start of season 4 I get this error almost every game of Warzone at some point or another. All background apps closed, all overlays turned off, also happens when starting the game in safe mode, crash folder empty, happens on Battle.net and Steam.

Verifying files does nothing, clearing temp files does not help, bios and all drivers up to date.

Anybody got any suggestions because I am all out of ideas!

Note: Game used to work perfectly before during Season 3 and never crashed once.

then you get banned for getting thrown out of the game. Nothing can be done, the problem is in the game files themselves, which idiots on the developers do not want to solve. Buy a console and play without problems.

There's no problem with your rig. The problem is Activision's high ass employees who don gaf about this broken update. I keep crashing for the past month. tried everything to fix it, failed. The only solution is the next update, which I'm sure Activision will let us down, again.

having this issue on my brand new Alienware 4080 super and it wont stop crashing, i even fully reset my PC so it was like i just got it and im still crashing over and over again. i thought i was going crazy because i tried every single suggestion that i could find and nothing works.

Negative consoles crash to not as often but has

It seems that you could have some broken directx and/or vcredist files.
Close game and steam

Browse to steam/steamapps/common/steamworks shared - in sub folders, find:

Directx folder/june 2010; DXsetup.exe - run it and chose repair - restart pc

Next, find Vcredist folder/2022 -
run both ...x86.exe and ...x64.exe - do as prompt (repair), restart pc

the issue is happening yet agin from latest update, the application has unexpectedly stopped working - cod22\cod22-cod.exe error crap, verify files, says need 72 files/downloads and starts again in a loop. battle.net never has any issues only steam

Go to Bios, and Change the CPU LOAD LITE CALIBRATION to mode like MODE 7, and try it.

Sometimes, you know the games aren't the problem, they just reveal our PC instability.
