a last ditch effort is to do scans
Once restarted open command prompt as Admin
type: sfc /scannow
when done ( and it can take a while )
Type: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
(this can take a while as well)
in case its a Windows error of some type
if you can get to the settings lower your Frame rate its quite high by default and make sure V-sync is on, if you FPS is higher then your monitors out put it can cause it to freeze and crash
So how would you go about fixing that for cod then
Completed both scan and restoration as admin in CMD. Also, double checked through Activision Support’s ban appeal feature to make sure there were no issues there. Account is in good standing with no ban detected. Still having the same issue. Stuck on “checking for update.” I would reinstall Windows, but given everything I’ve tried, I do not believe that will work. Plus, it’s too much of a hassle to relocate all my files just for COD. So at this point, I really don’t know what else I can try.
The last thing I’m going to try is to install BattleNet and COD on my fiancée’s computer. She lives in a different city, has a different ISP, and has never had COD installed on her PC. Will let you know how that goes later today.
