doesn't work for me
although it download some files, the game still not working bruh
2- I uninstalled Steam app.
3- Restart my pc after the process.
4- Reinstall the steam app.
5- Re-download and install MW2 (first game i re-download n install for the sake of trying to solve the issue)
6- Click PLAY.... IT LAUNCHED AS PER NORM!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ A RELIEF!!

*for those who is still having trouble launching the game try this out mayb and let me know if it helps.
(i wont be trying this as i have rectified my issue with my method that i shared)

Juan here, please follow these steps and let me know how it goes:
Install DirectX12
Open your browser and head to this website.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
Click on the Download button.
After it finishes downloading, right-click the file and select the Run as administrator option.
Click on “I accept the agreement.”
Click on Next.
Remove the checkmark beside “Install the Bing Bar.”
Click Next.
Wait for the installation to finish.
Click on Finish.
Restart your PC.
Make sure all Overlays have been disabled:To turn off the NVIDIA GeForce Experience Overlay, follow the steps written below:
Press Windows Key to open the Start menu.
Type GeForce Experience, and press enter.
Left-click on the gear icon beside your username (in the top-left corner)
Disable the In-Game Overlay option.
To turn off the Steam Overlay, follow the steps written below:
Launch the Steam application.
In the top-left corner, click the small “Steam” option.
Click Settings.
Navigate to the In-Game section.
Get rid of the checkmark beside the option that says, “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
To turn off the overlay of the Xbox Game Bar feature of Windows, follow the steps written
below:
Press Windows Key to open the Start menu.
Type Settings and press enter.
Click on “Gaming” in the Settings menu.
Disable the Xbox Game Bar.

My friend has same problem too, so he deleted some files and try verify the files
Turns out it work!!!
Maybe you need to delete some folder or files in game folder
And make Steam to verify the files, that probably will be working
MSI Afterburn - Turn up fans and temp
Nividia driver roll back to oldest stable version
Delete cod.exe from steam folder and check files if you crash/no start
create a new acc to log in windows (in windows setting ) (create a new microsft acc)
use this new acc to log in and lunch cod until the game get repaired
