I still can not launch the game after 2 weeks downloaded again for no reason did not help had nothing better to do so tried that,
updated, validated, cleared cache, run admin.
going in circles -launching, running, back to start. nothing.
no error,
hit that green play icon to wait 20 seconds to see a green play icon again

yooo chikn, Been at this for months! Ive found a fix! Go to registry editor /HKEY_current_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/ Current version/app compatflags/layers. Then delete any name that isnt default and the duplicates that dont have data labeled as perprosssystemdpiforceoff. This worked for me after not being able to launch cod for MONTHS

EXAMPLE OF WHAT SHOULD BE LEFT:

(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
C:/Users/name/... REG_SZ ~PERPROCESSSYSTEMDPIFORCEOFF
