BTW the whole MW26 thing is clickbait. Treyarch insiders have confirmed the next game as a Black Ops game. Don’t trust Twitter COD leakers in general. They tend to doompost and promise insane things
Again, why? Think of it from the Dev’s perspective. The biggest thing that sold a thoroughly mid game (Modern Warfare II and III) and many other semi-decent ones like Cold War was nostalgia bait.
Mainly the “wE’Re bRiNgInG tHe gAnG bAcK” type of bait. Mason and Woods return, Soap and Ghost come into the Frey, Makarov returns and does ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Warzone is rare in the sense that it’s cultivated the same tier of typical COD dumbassery where unless a game is reprehensible to every singly degree it’s considered an under appreciated classic within a year or two of it being out.
With that, Activision could replace every gun with dildos and make Warzone install cryptomining program on startup but people would still buy because “muh nostalgia, muh memories”
Even if YOU won’t fall for this, there’s 5 gullible people who will. That’s not counting the people who don’t fall for nostalgia bait and yet still buy this unironically expecting things to change.
TLDR: Call of Duty as a franchise can’t die unless they had like 5 Vanguard’s back to back.
It's time for them to move on with this concept.
You know what people would play?
An open world exfil shooter - similar to DMZ but with PVE and PVP options. Even could do a mix of both with "red zones" where there is better gear but there is PVP.
So then you have the sweats, tryhards, neckbeards and the other undesirables happy with the PVP
Then you have the casual players happy with the PVE.
Everyone is happy.
What we learned from DMZ is that both parties COULDN’T coexist. Sweats and tryhards just hung around contracts and “noob”/high demand zones and melted people with meta weaponry.
It’s simple. Look at any game with ranked and casual game modes. The Sweatiest bastards on Siege, the most fun-hating tryhards in TF2, the most unbearable members of society in CS2 are all on casual servers to get that high of stomping new players.
Because you COULD try your hardest against other players of your skill or higher and walk away pretty alright
OR
You could absolutely assrape new players and brag about going 70-1.
Which one is a egoheavy hardcore player going to choose if they’re in it for the stats and bragging?
You’re making the common error of forgetting how sadistic most FPS players are, how much of their enjoyment is based upon the misery of others. Trying to make the 1-2 hours every couple of days goobers in the audience happy won’t work unfortunately.
That would be a client issue which the developers would need to resolve & issue bans for.
People will find ways to exploit, or abuse bugs in any game - doesn't mean anything at all.
Warzone has been ♥♥♥♥ for years, battle royale is a ♥♥♥♥ genre that is losing players by the boat load. They need to do something new.
DMZ didn't teach anything as what I suggested =/= DMZ.
If casual players don't want PVE, they would play on PVE servers, wouldn't they?
If sweats want PVP, they would play on PVP servers or the mix servers, wouldn't they?
I agree on them needing to do something new. I’m not saying that your idea is the worst thing ever either. What I am saying is that unless it’s a massive moneymaker, Activision doesn’t take the same risk twice.
Really good changes/additions from previous cods are just left there in obscurity because Activision tries a thing once, decides whether people will like it for all eternity, and leaves it to rot.
My point was is that they’ve technically done the whole PVE/PVP thing once and because it wasn’t the Warzone money printer they wanted they dropped it. Your idea is technically different but it’s close enough that the heads at Activision are gonna go “We tried that with DMZ, people didn’t buy, not worth it”
You keep spamming this whole “Warzone is ♥♥♥♥ and dying and evil and killed my dog” quote in every single post you’ve made on this thread like me or anyone else disagrees with you. I don’t. I’m just saying it’s unrealistic and cod “fans” really like doom posting about circumstantial evidence every other day.
Also WHY would they as a corporation give you server browsers unless they could monetize it? Activision is based on greed, doing things out of the goodness of their hearts is a rarity.
Also the whole “every game has cheaters so this isn’t an issue” concept kinda falls apart when you realize that the point I’m making is that basing game design of the goodwill of players has essentially never worked.
Activision’s anticheat and report system is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ travesty. You’re proposing a hypothetical that requires something miles better than what they currently (or probably will ever) offer to be truly enjoyable for 90% of the people who play cod.
Also Call of Duty isn’t Gmod. People play for the shooting and for fighting others. If the whole PVE market was a legitimate wish then you’d see people talking about wanting more bot functionality in private matches, more playtime spent in Special Ops, or demanding private servers.
As of now (and this could totally change in the future) there isn’t major demand across the board for PVE content in general. We can hope but it’s unlikely to return.
You shouldn't trust leakers period. Unsacntioned behavior has no place in society.
It took everything that worked in PUBG & made it better.
I don't like Fortnight its to "Kiddy" & Apex's game-play don't feel right.
COD Warzone, Specifically the MW2 Version is the best BR has ever been.
