COD stop launching after power outage
Hey all, so been COD for a while on this PC. We had a power outage now it wont launch. I click on PLAY, it shows running for a few seconds, then it stops.
Tried:
- Validating, reinstall, copied game files to a temp folder/ unistalled game/ reinstalled but moved back the game files back into the newly recreated HQ folder, unistalled and reinstalled Steam, made sure my AMD card and OS is updated, tried various Youtube tricks......All with no luck.
- for a while was unable to launch other Steam games as well as my Epic games. Over the days I was able to play those other Steam games and Epic games. Its not just COD that doesnt work.

Any have this happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check your task manager I had this same issue, if the "crash handler" for COD is running then force close it and start the game

Same for me issues with no PSU issues, I think this from Steam launcher version issues, I can play in UPlay launcher

Thanks guys for the replies. So, update, I reinstalled Windows 11 and reinstalled Steam and COD. I was able to launch COD. I saw the splash image or COD then it stalled on the transition screen where just after the splash image the page goes black and there is a spinning loading graphic at the lower right. That Spinning graphic froze and a couple of seconds later I got a Window error message saying the game wasn't responding and if i wanted to close the program.
What a pain but I appreciate the help from you all!

Thanks Pure&Rustic. I'll try these but the question remains, why did COD work all these years and after a power out it doesnt? Example. it ran without installing things like
MSV C++ and DirectX.

Oh BUMERZZZ! Okay I've done all the steps in the guide and still the same freeze at the same location. I also get the same message box telling me COD is not responding. Gonna try the last effort he did by downloading the game.

Wait. Don't uninstall and reinstall. Try this first
close all running programs:

Browse to /steam/steamapps/common/steamworks shared/ - In sudfolder(s)
Directx: find DXsetup.exe - run it, do as prompt - Install/repair let it finish. restart pc.
In subfolder(s) find Vcredist and in subfolder 2022 - run both ...x86.exe and ....x64.exe
Restart computer

Test game
