DirectX Errors Must be Acknowledged
Treyarch and Activision need to stop ignoring this problem if they care about their players.
DirectX errors is more important than worrying about adding in killer unicorns to the game.

They will not get a cent out of me until they get it together. They just don't care enough.

Almost all directx errors is pc related... That mean there is corrupted files on your computer, and/orthird party programs interrupt cod and by that it fails.

An update of some drivers of third party programs, could fail and corrupt shart directx/vcredist files on your computer.

Close all programs running:

Browse to were steam is installed: steam/steamapps/common/steamworks shared -
In subfolder(s) you find dxsetup.exe and vcredist.x86 and x64.exe

Run them all and do as prompt. Restart pc after running them.

Then do a verifying of game files in steam library.

I don't have this problem with other games I'm playing. BO6 is the only game that gives me this error. How can that possibly be my PC's fault? It's the game. I've already tried verifying the game files on Steam and I still got crashes.

Verifying is only checking game files, not those directx and/or vcredist files.
That is Microsoft files the game is using for graphics and sound.
There is above 100K players online playing without this problem.
It would NOT be that many if it was a game issue...
Be reasonable.... do the check i wrote. Don't be ignorant

There is no official fix for it.
"Above 100k players online playing." The game is dead. Players are dropping like crazy. Current numbers are pretty bad for a Call of Duty game.

Look at Steam charts. It's under 100k right now. I don't know where you got that number from last night, but stats say otherwise.

The Direct X error is most likely caused by the latest version of Windows 11 24H2. A lot of games have been known to have stability issues on that version of Windows. Probably will have to wait for MS to patch Windows 11 before this gets fixed, or for Treyarch to get their act together and patch the game.

A lot of users have posted that reverting to 23H2 fixed the DX crash for them.

Please for the love of God , can a Dev do his job?
almost a month and i cant play.
no placebo fixes ,this matter needs a developer, no more fortnite skins FIX the game.
It's not my or our end problem its a game problem.
I don't care if its windows 24h2 or the new nvidia drivers , it's not my job , i can't look into it and fix the bug.

People who know a lot have said that the error is caused by PC, the methods I tried in order;

1- I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, the problem persists.
2- I uninstalled Windows 11 and went back to Win 10, same problem again.
3- I did cache RAM reallocation and same problem again.
4- I uninstalled the video card with DDO and reinstalled it again, same problem.
5- I closed all applications running in the background, including my second screen, same problem.
6- I tried to install a different SSD, same problem again.
7- I tried XBOX Game Play instead of Steam, same problem again.
8- I made all the settings in the Players folder, same problem again.

Is it still us?

I'm literally only able to play around 2-3 matches before my game crashes every single time with the DirectX error as well. I have tried every solution possible to lowering the vram target in game to 60, downgrading windows 11 to an update before their most recent, reinstalling and repairing directx and c++, verifying game files, uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Nothing works so its the game itself, not your hardware. They are on holiday break and wont even fix the cheating problem alone until season 2 which is ridiculous.. All they care about is putting money in their pockets, that's it.

I've tried everything everyone has listed and then some twice over. For those defending the game here's the thing. I'm playing MW2 everything has been fine for a year. The latest update for BO6 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ all the games. My computer checks all the recommended boxes for BO6. There is absolutely no reason for two forced 50GB download updates for BO6 to cause MW2 to crash every single game, if it can even load. There is no defence for the company for that. THEIR update is what caused the issue. Not DirectX, not my PC, not Microsoft, not graphics drivers and certainly not us affected. The update caused the problem and they don't have enough sand to be accountable. Cowards blame everyone else. Cowards refuse to admit fault. Narcissistic psychopaths ignore the people they ♥♥♥♥ over and move on to the next fools leaving us Munsoned. https://x.com/Hey_Activision

Reddit ("Direct X crash possible solution (Windows 11 24h2)") and Microsoft ("DirectX error while playing Call of Duty") report that the issue is caused by the latest Windows 11 update (version 24H2). To resolve it, it's recommended to roll back to version 22H2.

Personally, I didn't bother with rolling back Windows. I simply reinstalled the Nvidia drivers using Game Ready, and so far, everything works fine.

I thought I was in the clear with this error for the last few days until this morning. Unfortunately, you cannot roll back to 22H2 is you've been on 24H2 for over 10 days. GG.
