I tried to play this morning and had to download an update.
Downloaded it, game crashed. Okay, I'd have to restart it anyway.
Booted up game...."Update Requires Restart", well okay.
Rebooted up game......"Update Requires Restart", wtf I just did that?!?
Rebooted up game AGAIN....."Update Requires Restart", okay now I'm getting pissed.
Boot up the game one last time, have to wait through the stupid intros and skip through 6 pages of flashy skins and B.S. I'll never buy.
Have to wait forever for shaders to load, m'kay we're getting somewhere...
Queue up for a zombies game....
GAME CRASHES.
The game isn't even that good to begin with. It's just an expensive marketplace for expensive skins, with a game included for you to try the skins on.
Uninstalled.
There are some problems with BO6 that are causing declining player numbers, but unfortunately most of the analysis is aimed at pushing agenda's.
Black Ops 6 had a massive increase in players upon release due to hype from players who had already left. Naturally, unless the game is really exceptional (which its not), those players would always be expected to leave.
Some core players are also leaving, but this is mostly from warzone. Unfortunately, server and hit detection issues made the game unplayable upon release for many. Many are also unable to play the game due to nasty bugs such as crashing and blue screens. This had lead to some players on steam moving to battle.net. Despite this, there is still a lot more COD players on steam, than a decade ago.
Bad maps and other game design choices have also pushed players away. However...
There will be good maps in COD again.
The bugs and servers will improve over time.
All these issues are fixable, and players will return. What is clear is there is still a huge audience that care about Call of Duty and who will continue to buy future titles.
lmao great points but no definitive side. do you get paid by activision to be their spokesperson? everything is fixable if you are willing to fix it. the only audience are the people that get paid to play the game either by streaming or something else or the dopamine you get from playing the game that no other game gives that much.
however you must be spec being this smart. COD devs has stop caring about what they love to do and more about profit. Sledgehammer wanted to do AW 2 but Infinity ward said no do mw3. go to kickstarter and find any barebones fps. will you care about it? They definitely can fix the issues to become as great as OG COD. Stop being theoretical when the OP stated facts, COD is not what it once was.
Lobby leader boards - taken out
Wager Mages - Taken out
Theater mode - Just returned to this game after being gone for 6 years
Final Kill Cams - Now play of the game - just stupid IMO
Colored Clan Tags - Removed from game
COD mobile app for weekly challenges - Stopped working
Clan Challenges - Taken out
Party Games - Still do not have them all from black ops 1 and the ones we have on our rotation
These are just some of the features taken out for no reason and were actually good things but now we have ranked play which is full of cheaters and they do nothing about it. There was a winning formula that they had for may years and they threw that out the window. Zombies is not the same - again...winning formula in Black Ops 3 and then Black Ops 4 came out and it was garbage.
Activision needs to either go back to the basics that worked or do a whole new game on a different engine and stop using old code. The old code is what is making the cheaters and hackers more prevalent.
But they will not change a thing cuz as soon as we buy the game, they are done doing anything with it except trying to milk my bank account on cosmetics that no one wants.
PUT MORE EFFORT INTO CREATING A GOOD GAME RATHER THAN SKINS THAT DO NO TRANSFER....they only want our money. Old cods are better but cannot play them due to hackers.
Not to mention all the server issues, packet bursts and random disconnects
They dont give the devs the time to code the old features into the new engine, before the next game is due out... its a massive cash grab thats all
time top play other games
Have felt for quite a few years now for most.
Warzone and modern COD these last 5-6 years has got very stale. And the fixes for things never really get fixed.
People don't like it. They don't want to put up with it anymore.
