CONSTANT Packet Loss / Packet Burst
I am at the end of my rope with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Everyday when I try to play MW3 multiplayer I get near constant packet loss/packet burst. I get 250 FPS on this game with my rig. I have 1gig fiber internet with a hardwired connection. I have all my correct ports for PC forwarded and the in-game menus show my NAT type as open. Why the ♥♥♥♥ is every mp match laggy as ♥♥♥♥ for me. Is anyone else going through this? Does anyone have advice on how to fix it?

Why does anyone support activision anymore? MW2019, and the reboots was the only reason I got back into playing COD, or buying a activision game to begin with. They've fallen so far since the original Modern Warfare series back in the early 2000s. They're not worth giving 70 bucks to.

The packet bursts seem to be getting worse than in the last week , always had a problem with this issue with MW2 , now we have it in MW3 , unplayable at times with the screen just freezing for 30 secs than stutter , stutter , then it may be good , but it always comes back . hope Activision get a fix soon

I believe Texture Streaming in graphics settings is an issue. You download up to 32GB of textures while playing and I think no matter how good your PC is this will cause latency. I turned it off and I noticed an improvement.

This is the anti-cheat targeting you. How do I know this? Easy if you have a Nvidia GPU do these following steps.

  • Create a Private match with bots and set it up however you like.
  • Once you're in game do Alt + F3 this will bring up Nvidia Filters.
  • Add any filter.
  • Notice in a private match you'll start getting packet burst against bots.
  • After you play for a min or two disable the filter by selecting off or 2 or 3.

I don't think he meant it was after you but that it is monitoring you and that could bugger up performance, makes sense I did try a private match yesterday and performance was no better on there either.

To lazy to read everything but are you talking Multi or Zombies? I get it in zombies and I know a big part of it is people doing the monkey glitches with missions.

I shut my pc down, and when i started it up again, all the packet burst issues were resolved for me. Idk if it was just a coincidence that it worked, but give it a try. Note that restarting didn't seem to fix it the way shutting the pc down entirely did.

Could be, or maybe servers just got a little more stable. Like when I played mw2 it comes and goes. I played for a good few hours yesterday with no issues. Also steam went down temporarily so don't know if that helped in anyway.

Not sure if anyone is still having this issue. I have gigabit internet and kept thinking it was a network issue but it wasn't.

What fixed it for me was setting VRAM SCALE TARGET to 70 in the graphics>quality tab.
then setting WEATHER GRID VOLUMES to LOW

Hope this helps someone
These Indie Dev Dial-Up Servers be Rockin' boii! I think the servers are using Mickey Mouse Watches as processors, just need to be wound back up is all.

My setup probably cost more than your education, it's not that, there's something else intermittently causing performance issues and its not because of cheap equipment on my side
