Heavy stutter
My friend has a 5900x / 3080ti and 32 gbs of ram. The game is constantly lagging for him.
His pc latency in nvidia overlay is jumping between 20-25 ms.
Any idea what could be causing this lag?

Im playing the game on my rig and it runs fine besides small stutters in menus when stuff loads in.

Please help we tried multiple things so we can 1v1 on rust but his game is too choppy for any of that.

Tell him to monitor his vram I bet at any point he's using 80-95% of vram. Gpu can't cycle out causing stutters.

Whats the fix for this?
He lowered his settings all the way down to low and even then it is still happening. 3080ti has 12 gigs of vram so he should be okay on that end no?

My card has 16gb of vram and I'm using g 14-15 at 1080p ultrawide so no lol

Well we found the solution.
I bought my mw3 on battlenet so i let my friend log in dl the game from there and run a couple of games.

ALL STUTTER IS GONE.

Not sure if this is somehow a steam issue or if activision is gimping steam edition.

Hope this helps some of you.

So, you mean to say that MW3 runs better on Battlenet than Steam?

Just go to display settings and turn HAGS off, it helps with microstutters massively (for this particular game)

That is exactly the case for my friend.

Couldnt get this bs game to run without stuttering. Once he jumped on the battlenet version all issues related to game being choppy are gone.

My game was stuttering like mad, only game to run like that, but I lowered my RAM's clockspeed as a last resort and it fixed it. IDK why no other game was affected.

this is related with the latest update, i have a 4090 and 14900k no problems before the update, its not the first time this happens they make the same freaking mistakes with MWII the first big update did the same thing, restarting the shadders helps but pressing tab to see the leadboard, Fix tit activison

this game is buggy as hell cant play with 8000 MT ram the game does not like it any thing above 7000 is a no go, frame gen only help them to make a even worse game and it was done on record time

I have my own weird issue (and INSANELY annoying) where scenery and terrain stutters while my actually camera and animation movements are smooth as butter, locked 60fps, 16.6ms frame times. It makes no sense and can't be fixed. Go into a private match and boot up Invasion. When you spawn in, pay attention to the graffiti on the wall in front of you and slowly move left or right. You'll see the graffiti on the wall "stutters" and looks choppy. It doesn't look 60fps, yet it is. This is usually an issue in other games that is simply resolved by using RTSS to achieve perfect frametimes, but it's like with this game RTSS does nothing. But it does!! my frametimes are 16.6 with vsync at 60 so this make no sense. Can't seem to find anyone else with this issue but people just arent looking hard enough, because the issue is present not only on my desktop as well as my nitro 5 laptop, but its happening on my series x as well. For all three platforms, this issue does not appear in the campaign mode. Movement is buttery smooth there.
