Alt tabbing causes game to have latency variation
When it happens it's like there is slow motion. Does it happen to anyone else?

I've had this problem since the games release, thought it was just me and my PC since I couldn't find anything about it online. I would play Zombies and alt tab out to look at things or answer discord etc, tab back in, I get Latency Variation and I lag switch all over the place, the longer I was tabbed out the longer it lasts.

Today I took the time to go into a private match and tinker around with the settings over and over again, brought up everything went through different graphics settings, graphics drivers etc, the solution I found? Uncap your frame rate completely, dont set any caps on it, under graphics I set it to a custom frame rate cap, noticed it wasn't actually working like that when I was in the private match, set it to unlimited, works flawlessly..

TL;DR, if you get Latency Variation when tabbing in/out, uncap your framerate completely. (At least that worked for me)

My solution is to alt-tab in and out aggressively out of anger and pray (sometimes it fixes it).

Yeah I'm having this issue in MW3 too, doesn't happen and has never happened in MW2 at all. Seems like the game not being in focus creates some kind of desync. It gets worse the longer you tabbed out. I really hope we're getting a fix soon because as someone who really loves to tab in and out all the time this is absolutely driving me nuts

Thank you so much man. Uncapping the framerates fixed this. It was driving me crazy.
I assumed it has to do something with framerate or refresh rate mismatch. Looks like I was correct, kinda.

Thanks, this did itfor me as well. You can even activate v-sync instead to cap your frame rate this way and it will still work

Thanks so much, this fixed the issue for me. Was struggling for days after getting a new pc and stressing over what I thought was faulty hardware.
