Season 2 crashes- read this
after trying every fix...this is the only thing left. I should note that yesterday 1/30 nvidia did release new driver package oddly enuff i had to go to the website to see it.

excerpt from https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/if-call-of-duty-black-ops-6-is-crashing-or-blue-screening-your-pc-since-season-2-launched-you-are-not-alone

What I'm getting, and it seems a bunch of other people, is a complete BSOD PC crash. Not just in Zombies, but in multiplayer and Warzone, too. I can't get into a game before the PC crashes. I can't run the benchmark or use the firing range before the PC crashes. If I exit the Call of Duty launcher, the PC crashes. But hey, I could buy the new battle pass!

I've been chatting to a few folks on social media who are in the same boat, and we've already narrowed down it isn't exclusive to AMD. Others are using NVIDIA, I'm using Intel Arc. My PC told me my graphics card overclock was at fault, but the issue occurs when it's on stock settings.

One affected user more useful than myself paid attention to the error and reported UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP when the crash happens. Note the word kernel, and what did they update as part of today's big Season 2 launch? Ricochet.

Another helpful X user, KexTheHusky, immediately made the light bulb turn on.

Needless to say, this is not official by any means. Nobody has even acknowledged publically that the game is blue screening, let alone that Intel and NVIDIA users are also affected. Both CPU manufacturers are present in the systems I know are having this issue, too, so it really does seem to cover every single option.

But the mention of kernel in an update that introduced a supposed major upgrade of the Ricochet kernel-level anticheat and PCs absolutely pooping the bed would make far too much sense, wouldn't it?

There is a potential workaround for this BSOD issue, thanks to the input of some very helpful folks on X in the lengthy discussion thread we've been having on this issue. But I don't necessarily recommend doing it, however, it does seem to work. I've tried it myself and verified that I can indeed now play the game without it blue screening on me.

Open Windows Security, select Device Security from the sidebar, then Core Isolation Details, and turn off Memory Integrity.

Core Isolation is designed to protect the Windows kernel. Whatever this issue introduced in the latest update is affects the kernel, hence assuming it's anticheat related. As such, I don't really recommend this as a fix, but it is a workaround you can try absolutely at your own risk.

I recommend reading up on Core Isolation and Memory Integrity using Microsoft's documentation before you decide if you want to take that risk.

Activision needs to get this fixed, yesterday.

Sesion 2
I have this problem too but my BSOD begins when i boot up my pc (also takes longer to boot up for some reason), then it reboots and everything works fine. B06 does still crash sometimes but those are normal chrashes not BSOD. This al began after the seaosn 2 update, had no problems before. Probably gonna uninstall the game untill this is fixed.

That's strange, I BSOD only in game, Ricochet shouldn't be on start and it runs when COD is intialized. I remember a few days ago this didn't even happen.
What they did update to make Ricochet incompatible for now with HSP??
I don't get BSOD.

I click launch, I get the "Your game did not close properly last time" window, and before I can even click anything.. it closes along with the game.

This might be one of the worst developed games ever. I hope they catch a lawsuit, but I doubt it because corruption.
Apparently they released a patch or at least a patch note on their website. https://www.callofduty.com/patchnotes/2025/01/call-of-duty-black-ops-6-season-02-patch-notes

I still haven't received an update file. Not sure how long it will take to release. Does anyone have any updates?
Update is 2 hours of WZ with friends, constantly crashing. Its wild, I have not seen this bad of performance in a hot minute. For reference 14700k/4080 super no OC on anything. Trash game.

instead of memory integrity its this go into windows security, then device security, core isolation details , make sure Kernel-mode hardware-enforced stack protection is turned off.

Based on what happens when it fixes is that this windows 10 and newer has this to protect protecs stacks in the kernel from return-oriented programming-based attacks (ROP). ROP is a common way for attackers to hijack the flow of a program's execution, and continue their attack chain to execute attacker desired code.

Apparently some noob coder in Activision get paid big bucks just to flag a windows system program for some people. go figure.

I've had this issue 45 times since the new season started. The LONGEST session I was able to play (in Zombies at Liberty Falls) was a whopping 5 minutes. It's rebooted my PC. It's crashed in-game within 2 minutes. I tried your fix, but on my Windows 11 64-bit O/S, the kernel mode stack protection was already "off". Even before I purchased Blackcell, it was crashing. I've reinstalled Windows. I've reinstalled the Battlenet client. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times. I've tried every damn fix on the Activision website FAQ's, numerous suggestions on Reddit. and the damn thing STILL crashes or reboots my PC. I think it's safe to say this will be my last purchase of the COD franchise. Thing is, EVERY SINGLE GAME I've ever purchased on Steam has NEVER had the issues that COD has had. I wonder why?
