Close all programs running. Clear download catche in steam/library. steam restart. Close it.

Do a cleaup in windows for leftovers on C:

You can repair directx and vcredist - open in win browser:

Steam/steamapps/common/steamworks shared -

In subfolders - Open DirectX and in there DXsetup.exe - run it and do as prompt. Restart pc

In subfolders - Open vcredist and subfolder 2022 - run both ...x86.exe and ....x64.exe
Restart pc

Test game

It's a long standing issue with the game. It's been crashing with the direct X error since launch. There's several suggested work arounds (down grading your OS version, video drivers, dx config) but nothing 'fixes' the issue completely for everyone. Near as most can figure BO6 really disagrees with Win11/DX12/latest nvidia drivers.
Did you do the cleaup in windows first????

yeah, im on the last version of nvidia driver now, which seems to be a bit better, get a few games in instead of half a game now.

Having the same issue, started 2 days ago. I have never encountered a directx error until now.
I did get a with the directx error; video_engine_timeout_detected 141, so not entirely sure what went wrong.

same issue, spent hours trying to fix it. game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i wont ever buy another cod again. rather deal with brokenfield.
Disable Steam Overlay, Set Video Ram target Memory to 90%

Make sure you are running Full Screen Exclusive, Disable other monitors ( if you have them).

I get this error myself if I am not running exclusive full screen, and I still get it some times. But not as much once I set the game up like above.
correlation: win11 24H2 and DirectX crash

What is geofence exactly?

what is this?
dropping the shader to medium stopped it. its likely the game's shaders at high is broken
there is no universal solution. you can just try every listed here and maybe some will work. i've tried all possible solution but this sh!t crushes my every second game. and it started several weeks ago
Very weird, never had any crashes though and seems like a software problem.

also 10/10 title
