CTD on startup
Having issues with starting the game on my laptop. Every time I start the game, it will start a prompt message asking if I would like to run in safe mode. No matter the outcome, if I start in safe mode or not, it will crash just a second or so after once it start to load the game. Once it does crash, it always asks to send a report and to verify game files.

I've painfully have done all the scenarios, including verifying game files several times now. I've uninstalled & reinstalled the game. I've also reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers. I've also researched for days on on Youtube & on here with no luck. I've tried to "repair my library" as many videos suggests. also clearing my cache in my download section of steam.

Someone please help!

- Alienware 16" m2
- RTX 4070
- 4TB SSD
- 32GB ram
- direct connection ethernet, 980mbps download verified.

What does event viewer say when it crashes? do you have illegal software that the game is detecting and forcing the game crash?

it was normal before the squid game update, i dont have any illegal software. it keeps crashing
Where do I see information on event viewer? It's crashing when on the loading screen when first clicking the play button. First message says "It appears that Call of Duty did not quit properly the last time it ran. Do you want to run in safe mode?" After clicking either response, it will try to load the game momentarily & then crash.

I do not have anything "illegal" installed, my system & files are straight downloads from steam client. Recent update today did not help either.
The problem with this game is you cant run BO6 on preferred settings unfortunately you must run on safe mode and do not optimise the game with NVIDIA app as it causes to crash
no beautiful ray tracing, no dlls no frame generation and no all ultra settings etc. except the stupid safe mode
Good Luck

I've ran on safe mode & every mode that there is, i'm not sure what else to do at this point. I've created a ticket with Activision, but they're pretty much useless, only stating obvious things like "check your BIOS updates & make sure you're running the latest version of windows 11....." like really???

Go into services and stop 'Nahimic service'. You can leave the windows open and restart it when your in the game.
I don’t have anything labeled as “Nahimic” anywhere on my machine. Nothing in the system processes under the task manager or under device manager or apps.

Device security/Core isolation/Kernel mode must be turned off
I’ll check that next, I’ll report back if it works or not afterwards. Thank you all for the ideas & help regardless. It’s sad when I know I can expect more feedback & logical help than the ones I give my money to for the product…

Game runs fine on Battle.net but crashes my PC on Steam . The issue is with Steam/COD and is why I will wait for an update to fix the issue.. For now , i can play DMZ/WZ via Battle.Net as a workaround but am SOL for MW2 multiplayer and BO6 since I don not own those titles on Battle.net

I've asked for a refund even for MW3 & BO6 on Steam. I hit 5 hours of gameplay with MW3 but once I got BO6, i've hit 5 hours of just trying to load the game. So i've now surpassed my 2 week limit & 2 hour maximum gameplay. They will not refund the game, or I would just go over to Battle.net & buy it there instead. I surely wished I would have never bought it on Steam...

Kernel mode is confirmed off already in core isolation. Still does not load past the first main loading screen.
