Error Code 0x00001338

[Crescendolls]

I have tried everything. Since the latest update, I can't load into a game without it crashing. I can be in the menus fine, start searching for a game in DMZ and it crashes with the same error code. I have looked up multiple different methods of "fixing it" and I keep getting the same crash and error code. I've verified files about 10 times now. Does anyone know how to fix this or what the actual issue is that is causing it?

Have done both. Still crashes.

Try setting CoD’s priority in Task Manager to high if you still get the Call of Duty 0x00001338 Error. This procedure will increase your frame rate because you are essentially instructing your CPU to give the CoD Modern Warfare 2 Beta process priority. Additionally, it may also resolve your issue.

I'll give it a crack once I am bothered to launch it again and I'll post results

I fixed this error by going to game properties and verifying the files, turns out I had 38 corrupted files and steam fixed them

It doesn't work for me I have the same error code and he basically described my problem

I gave up trying and uninstall it from my laptop why don't you try installing it from another source other than steam I haven't tried but it might fix the problem

Do you have a separate drive you could install it on? I found that to be a cause and it's working fine for me... For now lol

Ive installed on both my SSD and HDD and both time i get the same 13 files missing if I try verify my game files.

I honestly have no other idea of what could be causing it because it happens so often to me and I just run through a couple fixes and it works. Sorry I can't be of help.

I just went into the task manager went to comparability and set it to run as administrator

Is the game bug,, nearly half a year, has not fixed! I really doubt the cod team's ability!

Potentially yes, I changed the install drive and it runs fine now. I think it may be that my D; drive is corrupted.

In my case, the CPU was getting too hot, which caused the game not to start. Replacing the thermal paste on it and adjusting the fan control solved the problem.

I had this exact issue for a couple of days out of nowhere. If you run AMD FSR, make sure you DON'T have it set to Ultra Performance. Upscaling uses your CPU to, well, upscale the image and improve performance by minimizing GPU usage. Run the Balanced or Performance option, but Ultra Performance might overload your CPU and cause the game to crash.

So again,
Go to settings, go to graphics, and then to quality. Set the upscaling to 2x or lower.

I hope this helps resolve the issue for you the way it did for me.
