Anyone else stuck at the first splash screen when launching?
Hi everyone,

I'm looking to see if anyone else has this issue, or possibly has a solution.
Whenever I try to launch since Wednesday 12/14, I can get to the initial splash screen and the progress bar along the bottom fills up. That's it. I never get past that screen now.

I've googled relentlessly to see if anyone else has had this issue.
Solutions I've tried are:
- Verified the integrity of local files via Steam
- Allowed basically all .exe files in C:\\...Call of Duty HQ\ directory through my Firewall & Ransomware Protection in Windows Defender Security
- Uninstalled & reinstalled newest Nvidia GPU drivers
- Installed Warzone 2.0 via Battle.net, I can't even get to the first loading screen before it errors out vaguely

I really don't know what could be causing this. A new update dropped recently for Warzone 2.0 so I assumed it was that? And maybe another update or patch will drop soon?
The only thing new I've done since Tuesday 12/13 is I bought the Messi DLC bundle... but I highly doubt that has any effect. I didn't even get to play a single match of anything with it.

Any possible solutions or ideas would be helpful.

Thank you all.

Yeah, same problem here, can't get past that screen and it crashes. Tried same things you did and nothing worked, also trying to launch it from the new update, no success :D

Same here, it seems there are a lot of us with this problem. I guess we have to wait for a patch. So stupid from activision

Okay, I thought it was just me. I just built my PC last weekend and I thought I already screwed something up💀

I had exactly the same issue. Loading bar would go to the end, and the COD process in task manager continued to use about 25% despite it not doing anything. I did all the standard troubleshooting and end up getting a refund. The purchased bnet version worked perfectly without any further changes.

Yes facing the same issue. It should not be a spec issue right?

I found a solution that worked for me, try going into Documents\Call of Duty and delete the folder called "players" The user boatshoegaze posted it and it fixed mine. Hope this helps :steamhappy:

For me, restarting the computer is a working method, after rebooting I immediately start Steam, then the game. If I just turn on the computer the next day, I still need to restart the PC to launch CoD.

I was running into this issue as well, but I finally figured my issue out. I have two drives, one for the OS (C:) and one I've mapped to a folder (C:\Games). For some reason, CoD games don't like to be on the separate drive, and only work if they're on the primary drive. I right-clicked the game -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Move install folder.

For the record CoD... why?
