"Your current display name is not allowed" bug

First time playing here. The above message is then followed by me trying to change the name and receiving a "Could not rename your account because you do not currently have a rename token available." Any ideas how to fix? Some websites say this was an issue back in October.

Try putting _ at the end of your name when it gives you the prompt to change your name, for example "yourusername_", No need to thank me.

log in to the activision website itself, link to your steam account if you haven't already, and then change your username.

Thanks. For whatever reason, when I tried to log in later that day it worked. So I guess the solution is to just simply wait a few hours and try again? : /
