Why is COD servers still on 20 Tick?
A friend and I was discussing the lack of hit detection in this game and decided to have a look into the server hardware they use. Apparently its a mixture of Google Cloud Servers and a few other companies but these servers are configured to use 20 ticks. Why are we not on 64+ by now? Especially as this is a game used in esports?

I Googled it. Seems to be random people running tests on the servers since CoD doesn't wanna say what it specifically is to refute it b/c it might upset people. 6v6 seems to be the best at 32-65ticks. some of the bigger maps seem to run as low as 12 ticks like ground wars. Looks like they are trying to up the rates though for warzone 2 but server instability is severely bogging it.

The 20Hz tick is referring to MW2019, not MWII
Yes I did. Did you read the replying and commenting tweets shared about it through the tweet thread? You don't honestly believe they're going to be any different from WZ1 and MW1 do you? You do whats profitable and they've already proved previous tick rates people would still play.

I would love both. But people always only discuss Tickrate which makes no sense when the first thing that should be done is a proper Netcode.

Why argument with beliving, if the done tests show different?
All data I find for MWII states the server having a 64Hz tick rate.
But if you consider your image of the evil, greedy company to be more reasonable than actual data, its your choice.

I'm suprised you're able to see them as a honest, good willed, for the people type of company after last years controversy. But hey; If you think the Cosby Rape suite, the CEO Rape Cover up, Employee treatment, and threats to womens lives as honest good will honest company I do suppose with my pessimistic outlook would logically see people like you would genuinely think that would make em good people. The CEO never resigned either lol.

The game is made by infinity ward, not blizzard. Have you any source, that the people working on this game are guilty?

If your argumentation would make ANY sense, why doesnt games like BF, CSGO etc. run their games on 20 tick servers? Do you think EA is "honest, good willed" ?

For those complaining about tickrate there is test that proof its running at 100 hz the problem is the netcode

Higher tickrate servers cost more money. Right now they cant even afford to release stuff when they say they do.

Plenty of descriptions that would fit thos behaviour.
Not necessary. Its just a value they need to change that the servers are running on an higher tickrate

Even 64 is ass compared to 128, 20 is disgusting for company like blizzard. They just know that they can put out another COD a year after they release a game and get more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers and make a profit.

60 ticks per second Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch.
30 ticks per second Fortnite and Battlefield V's.
20 ticks per second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends.

Valorant has the best servers it seems.

Well csgo uses 66 tick first of all and thats only the official server. Most community servers run on 102 and 128 tickrate

Even l4d2 that is not oriented to be competitive had 30 tickrste servers

Yeah I run game servers. Host a few steam game servers too and its literally in the configs to change this variable for most games. It seems it's either the engine can't deal with fast tickrates due to lazy devs or there servers are still the same servers from OG days and don't have the hardware there to increase tickrate. Either way. anything less than 60 ticks in 2023 is bull
