What DPI are you all using?
Up until last night I assumed a DPI of 3200 was normal. Since that’s the default setting on my mouse. My buddy laughed and told me to try 700-800 since that’s (what the pros use). I tried 800 and it felt insanely slow. I’m so use to 3200, when I switch to 800 it felt like I had to move my mouse wayyyy to much in order to move. But it does seem to help with more precise aiming.

So I’m curious what you all use. I’ve since set it to 1000 and that seems to be a little better now.

oh I forgot , if you want to play with more precise and slower sens, you gotta have a mouse pad that covers a 360 or at least 300 , otherwise...you'll have a hard time
Its just training :) ofc if its bigger you would have a lower sense but i assume standard sizes not that blanket type mousepads xD
well, except one among top 20 MK players of cod uses a lower sens than a carpet mate ! they all are between 40-55 centimeters (for a 360) , been using it for 2 years and I got better dramatically!

Low sensitivity is pretty much necessary to take precise shots. Luckily we can tune in acceleration as well with modern computer peripherals. I remember the day I used to p[lay with sphere controlled mouse, there was no software for them or any drivers, and we had to clean it once every couple of weeks.

acceleration ?!?!? that thing might feel good but it's bad for muscle memory , you won't have the same sens with different speeds which will have a huge impact on flicks and changing targets , 10 cm should be the same rotation area with ANY speed, but again, if you're doing it for fun and enjoy it, it's fine, just keep in mind your muscle memory should get used to the same sens with ANY speed to make perfect shots , 360 trickshots are also impossible with acceleration on

low 1

800 dpi. I tried to go lower, when I was into ranked CS years ago, but there's too much of a disconnect between irl movement and on screen movement. Maybe a weighted mouse would help this, idk. I have in-game mouse sens at 1, no aceleration/smoothing/multipliers. I assume 1 sens is raw input but I honestly don't know.

Higher DPI means less precision. I highly recommend getting a deskpad or giant mousepad and adapting to lower DPI. Work your way down in increments of 25 to 50. I used to play at 1600 too but there is a very good reason why professional players use low dpi. You'll need the deskpad eventually so you can have your keyboard as far to the left as comfortable to maximize space. Even with a deskpad I still occasionally slam my hand into the keyboard.

You are wrong. Higher dpi = lower sensor latency. 1600 is the sweet spot.
Just lower your in game sens and play with 1600

i consider anything above 800 dpi a crime, i use 600 use to use 400 im so use to it i find 800 insanely fast

It doesn't matter the people worried about this crap are not good enough to worry about it. The input response actually increases with the higher DPI but your talking 1.2 MILISECONDS. You are not that freaking good.

LOL no offense but you have other issues to worry about other than 1.2 miliseconds of additional input. Nevermind there are no low latency options to almost 0 ms options.

You will benefit from none of it. Cause just a few ms of latency in game will overshadow anything you do here.

ALSO THE LOWER YOU HAVE IT the higher the latency of the input. The middle ground is around 1600 where the upper ground is around 3200.

The modern sensors are not like old sensors where everyone is thinking lower DPI. Just older professional gamers have ingrained this into the mainstream populous into believing this is the way to do it. The tardicons follow in their footsteps and are actually hurting themselves.

For instance at 100DPI the latency of input can be as high as 51ms where as 800 is around 29ish. Notice the latency is going lower? 1600 is 1.2ms faster at peak latency values. The values do not stay the same there is a massive variation these are just peaks. 3200DPI is 1ms FASTER than 1600DPI.

So as you see there isn't a significant difference to matter for the average player but what I can tell you is the low DPI is the way to go is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the newest sensor modules available.

I played rest of my life with 150-200 ping and I felt it, even 10ms is a joke

wait a minute, you lowered dpi almost 4 times and didn't touch sensivity option right ? the heck?...

Ya but the point is as you demonstrate with a nearly 50 ping variance. 1 or 4 ms is not going to be noticed. 10ms sure but we're talking about single digit differences.

Just FYI on everyone the modern sensors peak around 1600dpi for the lowest variance in latency with 3200 seeing no more than a 1 ms improvement. Everyone is doing it backwards these days. The new sensors don't work like the sensors from decades ago.

our guy simply lowered dpi and didn't even know that he should higher his sens in-game to match his older one lmao...for example , if you have 1600 dpi and use 5 sensitivity in options, if you make it 800dpi, you gotta change in-game settings to 10 ...the whole question is almost wrong, you can have a very fast sens even with 400 dpi, combination of dpi and in-game sensitivity is what that matters

I mentioned the first double digit difference to show how small that 1-2 ms is
