Failed to start game process (740)

Game wont launch and ive tried every tutorial i could find. when i look at the bootstrapper file is says ''Failed to start game process (740)''. Any one have an idea how to fix this"?

Cause I have the same thing [10916] 11/09/22 17:23:39: Failed to start game process (740): "G:\Games\Call of Duty\_retail_\cod.exe" "cod.exe -uid auks hdeyguxs3zaumvlgvybm2vyc".

I literally got the same message and code when checking the bootstrapper note

I found how to solve this problem you need to disconnect from cod.exe compatibility disable run as administrator

IT ACTUALLY WORKED

Steam > Right click COD > Manage > Browse local files > Right click cod.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Uncheck "Run this program as an administrator" > Try launching through steam again.

If you cant find the Compatibility tab, then click shift when right clicking cod.exe

I cant find the "Cod.exe" am i being silly? if so how do i get there?

Error I got inside bootstrapper.log

[17348] 10/25/24 21:48:33: Failed to open (3).

My game still launches and then goes back to 'Play', I've done everything, please help.

We are getting the same error but this didn't work for me. 'run as administrator' was already disabled for me.. What causes this error can you help me?

i did this and now it thinks im running from windows 8 im on windows 11
